Being a live in carer is one of the most rewarding jobs you can find. You will provide support and companionship for your customer helping them with a variety of needs and activities based on their individual circumstances. Helping Hands has been a leader in providing the highest standards of care to all of our customers for nearly 25 years. We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic carers to join our team. As a live in carer you will provide one to one care for your customer, building a relationship with them that allows them to live the life that they want in their own home. You will have your own room within your customer's home typically working for 6-8 weeks at a time after which you will take a break that will be covered by a Helping Hands relief carer. Attitude is everything in care. If you don't have a caring nature, a drive to deliver the best results for your customer and a sociable disposition this isn't the job for you. You need to be flexible to your customers needs, calm under pressure and common sense is a must. You will need to prepare meals so cooking skills are essential as are clear communication skills both verbal and written. Whilst experience can be beneficial it is not essential as you will be given full training and will be supported by a local care manager and the team at your regional office. Full training is given during our week long residential training programme that is run at our centre of excellence training academy in Alcester, Warwickshire. Once you are in placement there are many opportunities for ongoing development including the completion of the level 2 QCF qualification in health and social care. We have exciting opportunities across England and Wales. For more information please contact Kim Kennedy
